About
-
I am a professional artist and sculptor. I started my teaching career recently, with children’s after school classes in Jewelry Making, “Weird Science”, “Heart to Art”, and Creative Writing/Storytelling at local private schools with the Pegasus Enrichment Program.
After many demanding years sculpting in art production for the History Channel’s show “Forged In Fire”, I missed teaching young minds. I fell in love with teaching as a teenager, when I spent a summer as a horseback riding instructor and counselor at the stables. I spent many years during school and after my BFA, teaching all ages from beginner to advanced, proper animal, pet care and nutrition. My passions are Art, Science and Nature. I combine them whenever possible.
Art is supposed to be fun. Creating something is empowering. It is critical for growing minds to experience artistic exploration. The self-discovery in new skills and materials, that enable kids’ individual creative developments and expressions. There is a huge importance for children to be shown how art is involved with, and linked in interesting ways, to their other subjects in school. Art is in everything around us. I teach children the skills necessary to make it, notice it, and love it.
