Our Library Learning Commons is more than just a place to find great books—it's a dynamic, creative and innovative space where all students, from Pre-K through 8th grade, come to explore, discover and grow. Students in Pre-K through 5th grade visit the Library Learning Commons as a weekly class, while our middle school students have two weekly classes, with one focused on media literacy and the other specialized in coding and other digital technology skills.
š For Young Readers (Pre-K through 3rd):
We nurture a love of reading through read-alouds, early reader / picture books and interactive storytelling. Students explore books that spark imagination and curiosity, helping them build literacy skills and a lifelong passion for stories.
š For Growing Learners (4th through 8th):
Students dive into research skills, learning how to ask questions, find credible sources and organize information for school projects. We use digital tools and guided instruction to support critical thinking and responsible information use.
š» Digital Skills for All Ages:
From practicing typing skills in early grades to exploring coding platforms and virtual reality, students use technology to create, problem solve and collaborate. These experiences build confidence and prepare students for the future.
šÆ A Hub of Exploration:
Whether students are discovering a new favorite author, researching a science topic, coding a game, listening to a visiting author or experiencing history through virtual reality, the Library Learning Commons is the place to be!
Outside of class, students are encouraged to return often or interact with the Library Learning Commons on its dedicated website. Click on the button below to explore resources, upcoming events, student tools and our library and digital learning specialist’s recommendations.
