After School Program
Welcome back! This September, the St. Thomas Aquinas After School Program will begin another year. We offer supervised recreational activities, and time for homework and study. The program is considered part of St Thomas Aquinas School and is available only to children attending St. Thomas Aquinas School. The following is some information that will help you and us to see that the program runs smoothly:

The After School Program uses two classrooms daily - one for homework, and one for play. We encourage children to do their homework at A.S.P.; we will help them in whatever way we can, but we do not do it with them.

It is a very long day for your child. We do not provide snacks, and suggest that you send along an extra snack, sandwich, or whatever you feel is best for afternoon energy.

Program begins when school dismisses, and ends promptly at 5:30 p.m. Children attending are escorted to the After School classrooms by a teacher. Children may change into play clothes. (Please label your children's clothing). Please be punctual when picking up your child. If you arrive after 5:30pm in picking up your child, you will be charged $10 for EACH fifteen minute interval that you are late.  Please be respectful of the teacher's time, they are anxious to get home, too.

Attendance is taken - all students must report for attendance so the teachers know who is present for A.S.P.   Students attending other activities and then coming to A.S.P. MUST report to teachers on duty that day.

If you are late in picking up your child from school for any reason, your child will automatically be sent to the After School Program. There will be a MINIMUM fee of One (1) hour when the students are sent to the program.

We go outside to play daily, weather permitting. Please make sure your child has the proper outer wear (coats, hats, gloves, etc.)

The Registration/Emergency Form

This form provides for you to designate the emergency people you choose for A.S.P., and all other authorized people to pick up your child/children from the After School Program for reasons other than an emergency (you must attend a business meeting, are stuck in traffic, etc.)

If you make arrangements for someone else (who is not on the registration/emergency form) to pick up your child, you must write a note and state who will pick up your child on that day. A telephone call is not acceptable .   The note should be sent to your child's teacher, or faxed to the school office. Please make sure that your child recognizes the pick-up person, or a driver's license will be requested.

The program will run on most school days. If there is no school, the will be NO program. PLEASE NOTE: if school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, or for any other reason, there will be NO After School Program that day.

PROGRAM FEES
One Child: $10.00 per hour

Two Children: $12.00 per hour

Three + Children: $15.00 per hour

Payment
At the end of each month a bill will be given for your child's stay. PLEASE BE PROMPT with payment since the teacher's salaries come directly from this.

If you would like your child/children to participate in the program, please complete and return the attached form.   Even if you plan to use the program only sporadically, please return the form, as we must have a form on file in order to admit your child into the program.
